| Terms and Conditions of Sale | | Warranty Terms | Campbell Technical, Inc. will, at its sole discretion, Repair or Replace any and all damaged, defective or failed product(s) based on current availablity, should any problems develop within the Warranty Period. Warranty stickers must remain sealed and product must be treated with care. Mishandling or improper use voids warranty. Mishandling includes the following actions (Note that this list is for illustration and is not exhaustive): - Removal of warranty stickers
- Board Swapping
- Configuration Alterations that require changing firmware or other board level alterations or computer code changes
- Dropping and other careless handling
- For Tape Drives: Using Bad/Defective Media (tape cartridges)- failing to regulary clean drive
- Handling products without ESD Protection
- Improper packaging when the product is returned under warranty. Call us for more details.
Campbell Technical, Inc. does not offer credit or refunds for returned products unless Campbell Technical, Inc. determines, in its sole discretion, that such action is the best way to resolve a warranty situation. Campbell Technical does not allow for return of products for a refund in any situation- including when a customer loses an order with their customer or other third party, orders a wrong part, or otherwise unilaterally decides to cancel the order. | | Warranty Period | Please refer to your invoice for your specific warranty terms. By default, standard warranties for all tape drives, hard drives, and parts is 90 calendar days. Dates are counted from the day they are shipped from our warehouse, FOB Hayward CA 94545. | | Customer's Duty to Insepct and Report Problems | All customers have an obligation to test and screen the product when it is received. Such an inspection is necessary to determine if product was shipped by mistake, incorrectly or if it was damaged in transit for instance. Accordingly, the following problems are not covered by our warranty if they are not reported withing the first 7 days after the product is received: - Broken Connectors (example: SCSI connectors, power connectors, pins, jumpers)
- Cosmetic Flaws/ Damage (for instance: scratches, dents, discoloration, etc.)
- Excessive Noise (With drives, you can generally test the noise level during the calibration process to see if it is excessive.)
- Wrong Parts shipped
- Shortages
- Missing accessories
- Improper packaging
| | RMA Process | Customers must obtain a RMA number for all products that need to be returned. To obtain a RMA number, customers must fax a request to 510.476.0336 or call 800.474.8399. All requests MUST include: Model numbers, Serial numbers and a description of why the product (each unit) is defective. Campbell Technical, Inc. reserves the right to require customers to fax us error reports or to discuss technical issues before issuing a RMA number. Such procedures are in place in order to troubleshoot frequent problems, technical errors or other situation that would lead to needless and unnecessary product returns. We will EXPEDITE RMA requests that also include information regarding your Purchase Order number, Our Invoice/Sales Order number, Date of purchases, etc. A RMA request form can be found on the back of this sheet. Keep this filed for your records to make future RMA requests efficiently. | | Freight Terms and Timing | Campbell Technical does not ship Advance Exchange Warranty Replacements unless other arrangements are made at the time of purchase. After customers send in the defective product(s) Campbell Technical absorbs the cost of shipping the product back to the customer using UPS Ground, an equivalent method to surface shipping or by another method of our choice. A customer may expedite returns by paying the cost of a more expedient method of transport or by providing meaning that there is no flaw or problem found or if the customer ordered a part without requesting the proper configuration. Campbell Technical, Inc. reserves the right to bill the cost of the return freight back to the customer. | | Tracking Numbers Policy | Campbell Technical, Inc. does not provide tracking numbers for shipments UNTIL AFTER 11:00 AM PST. If you need a tracking number or serial number for a shipment prior to that time- you must fax the request in advance when the purchase order is submitted. Such requests are subject to a processing fee that will be added to the invoice. | | Liability Limits and Disclaimer Re OEM Warranties | Campbell Technical, Inc. gurantees its products directly to the customer since it repairs, refurbishes, re-manufactures and tests all the drives and products that it sells, ships and stocks (unless sold AS-IS). All warranties are directly through Campbell Technical, Inc. and are included as a service component of the sale to our customers/buyers. The waranties are non-transferable and do not pass through to other third parties- including parties that are the recipients of the drives in instances of Blind Shipments, Cross Shipments and Drop Shipments. Campbell Technical, Inc. makes no representation that any product qualifies for maintenance or warranty service through the original manufacturer, OEM, or distributor. Since we deal with secondary market products and are in the business of repairing, it is common for us to swap boards and parts in the process. Accordingly, it would be improper for our customer to try to obtain warranties from third parties or OEMs since our alterations likely void the original product warranties. Campbell Technical, Inc. will not be liable for any consequential damages resulting from sales of our products- including, among other things: damage to software, hardware conficts, software conficts, data corruption, delays in delivery time, etc..
